In order for Warehut to generate accurate shipping labels for you, your Shopify store needs to be correctly set up. Follow these easy instructions for a seamless shipping experience.
All items that you intend to send to your Warehut (products, product components, packaging items and marketing inserts) need to be set up as products in Shopify, as your list of products is imported into Warehut and used for adding inbound product notifications. Products should not be marked as draft or archived - they should be in published status, but can be hidden from your storefront.
Each product should have a unique SKU code in Shopify that matches the SKU code printed on the corresponding physical goods (on the item and/or item mastercase or pallet documentation). If your products are barcoded, you’ll also need to add the barcodes to Shopify. Read more about labelling your inbound shipments here.
Carrier Cover
To ensure that your shipments are eligible for carrier provided cover (where offered by the carrier) or additional insurance, every product in Shopify should include an accurate price and cost per item. If these details are missing or inaccurate at the time sales of the product are made, those shipments may not qualify for carrier cover. Carrier cover and insurance cannot be added or adjusted after an item is dispatched. Read more here.
Shipping Internationally
If you are selling internationally, you need to provide correct customs details for every product in your store. Inaccurate or missing values may result in international shipments being delayed for dispatch, getting stuck in customs or returned to your Warehut.
To provide this information:
- Log in to your Shopify store and navigate to “Products” on the left-hand side menu.
- Under “Pricing”, enter a Cost per item for each product you sell.

3. Scroll down to “Shipping” and enter each item’s weight, country/region of origin, and HS code. The country/region of origin and HS code can be skipped for stores not shipping internationally.
